MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF BIOMATERIALS OF MARINE ORIGIN

We study the effects of climate change, such as ocean acidification, on biomaterials of natural origin, from mollusks off the coasts of Chile and Antarctica. To do this, we evaluate biomechanical properties at different structural levels (macro, micro, nano) together with advanced microscopy techniques. This line is the pillar of the biomechanics area of a collaborative project of Research Rings, which intertwines different research centers in Chile and abroad.
